Peter Teahen & John Ockenfels

Members of International Fellowship of Flying Rotarians

ONE ENGINE, TWO PILOTS
AND A 2:1 DONATION MATCH

On July 30, 2023, Peter Teahen and John Ockenfels completed a daunting mission when they landed their single engine airplane back home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They had flown the Cessna T210M craft all the way around the world after taking off from Cedar Rapids on May 5, 2023. Throughout the entire trip, the pilots raised awareness for polio eradication, raised funds for Rotary's End Polio efforts, and even administered some vaccines to children in need.

Both Peter and John are pilots, Rotarians, and members of the Fellowship of Flying Rotarians. Polio eradication has been a primary focus of Rotary for over 35 years and continues to be a major initiative. While the end of polio may be near, no child anywhere is safe until every child has been vaccinated.
